When does the van tachographs mandate start?
The most important date to remember is July 1st, 2026. Starting on this date, the obligation to use tachographs will enter into force for all vans and light commercial vehicles with a maximum authorized mass exceeding 2.5 tonnes involved in commercial international transport.
What does the EU legislation require from you?
Installing a tachograph in vans is just the first step. In order to comply with EU Regulation 165/2014, you must regularly download tachograph data.
To stay compliant, you must strictly follow the schedule for tachograph download data:

Driver Card Data: Must be downloaded every 28 days.

Van Tachographs Data: Data must be downloaded directly from the van tachographs every 90 days.
